Q: In a nutshell, tell us what you do.
A: I'm the owner of Armand Life Ink, LLC a boutique brand/communications agency specializing in the areas of entertainment, including but not limited to music, production, and management. Armand Life Ink was created with a vision to develop brands, forge partnerships, and cultivate successful careers through creativity and forward-thinking strategy.
I've also recently started the S.M.A.R.T. Girls Project, which is a not-for-profit whose mission is to empower, encourage, and guide our young girls to be Strong, Motivated, Authentic, Respected, and Tenacious! The S.M.A.R.T Girls Project is dedicated to providing opportunities to girls…empowering them with knowledge to grow into a balanced woman. S.M.A.R.T Girls grow to S.M.A.R.T women, in turn building a stronger community as a whole.
Q: Do you have a style muse? If so, who?
A: Lucille Ball…she was ahead of her time and so unique and strong willed, and obviously funny. Having charisma, humor, and brains will never go out of style so for me, she will always be someone I’ve considered an icon as a child and to this day.
Q: What is your greatest strength?
A: I have a way with people. Not sure what it is or even how to explain it, but honestly since I can remember…folks just talk to me. I think it was some time in middle school or junior high when I realized those who always came across as uninviting, etc always talked to me; it was then I realized it was something about my spirit. This went on through high school and college and grad school, internships, and jobs (whether waitressing or being my own boss)…to this day, I am blessed with an ability from God and I’ve learned to hone in on it to comfort, inspire, and lead.
Q: What is the best gift you've ever received?
A: Sure I view gifts in a weird way, however to answer this question I think back to this pair of Puma sneaks. Nothing too special in the way of release or style but they fit me and were unique and majority of the colors was Olive green. This was the first gift I received outside a family member that the person who was gifting it to me knew how special it would be. ‘I love the color…not pink, not purple, not yellow not polka dots…olive green. They were just so me. I still have those track looking red, yellow, and Olive green pumas—something so simple reminds me that people pay attention to the details and it matters.
Q: What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
A: I was Homecoming Queen of my college Alma Mater—Temple University. I don’t mention it often. That week challenged me in ways I’m still proud of. To be honest, I need to go back to that time and grab parts of that person back. Something in me changed that week, something in me clicked…I was bold and direct, not an ounce of shy, not an ounce of reserved. That was a good week.
Q: What’s your beauty secret?
A: Treating myself. Drinking Water. Natural brows and nails. Coconut oil for everything. Vitamin D. Staying in my lane.
